Taylor and Jeff

Jeff, and I got married in September of 2017. Ever since we got married we dreamed of starting our very own family. After trying for about a year with no success, I decided to go see my OB. She did lots of blood work and tests but found nothing to be wrong. She decided to try Letrozole, which did not work. Then we tried Clomid for several months, and then we tried Clomid with IUI. None of this worked, my husband and I were very distraught.

At the beginning of 2020 we went to see Dr. Ke at Fertility Associates of Memphis. We talked to him for what seemed like hours at our first appointment. He wanted to get both of our medical histories. He explained to us that he was going to run more tests on the both of us. After the tests were done and the results were in, Dr. Ke said my AMH level is extremely low for my age. I also had an emergency surgery many years ago for what was thought to be a burst ovarian cyst, and I had over a pint of blood in my belly. Dr. Ke thinks that it is possible that my fallopian tubes were compromised during this surgery, and from the surgery note it also looks like I also suffer from endometriosis. So all together, I have a very low AMH level, compromised fallopian tubes, and possible endometriosis. Dr. Ke thought that the best thing for us to do was go straight to IVF since we had already tried IUI.

Finding this out was extremely scary, especially when thinking about all the money we would need to spend. Neither of our employers offer infertility coverage, but we knew that having a family was the most important thing to both of us. We made it work, and in August of 2020 we had our first transfer. Thankfully our first transfer was a success, and we are now blessed with our miracle little girl, Beckett Holland Moss. 

I wish this group had been available when we began our journey of infertility. Having people to talk to during this process is one of the most important things, because it can be such a lonely journey. If anyone needs to talk or wants to know more about our journey, I would love to talk to you!!
