My husband & I go back to young adolescents who had dreams of a big family one day. We married in 2011. The next year, I also started my career and we suffered our first miscarriage in 2012. I figured it was just the stress & we would have better luck next time. Fast forward, after years of basal temp, charting, OPK's, trying every supplement, and a LOT of prayers-We got our long awaited answered prayer; A positive pregnancy test that finally stuck and had our daughter in 2015! 

When our daughter was young, we started trying to expand our family so our children would hopefully not be far apart in age;nothing was happening & also,suffered an early miscarriage in 2018. We gave it a year of trying again and my ob-gyn ran a lot of labs but we were still not sure of why this was so hard for us. I knew deep down, it was time to see a fertility specialist and my obgyn did,too. We found out earlier this year that I have a condition that causes my blood to produce antibodies that make it clot too thick and also some other issues. I had surgery this spring and still we wait. IVF is our only next option with my condition that gives us a possible chance of growing our family. I can't even begin to explain the isolation, sadness, and rollercoaster of a ride that infertility brings! It is absolutely one of the hardest things to go through especially with costs all out of pocket and the hurt of month after month of disappointment. 

Infertility is a disease. It should be covered like any other condition. I need heparin which is also costly. This condition is something we have absolutely no control over. I am blessed with great insurance but it covers absolutely no fertility treatments. It is a huge burden to pay all without insurance! Infertility is stressful enough and then the debt just adds more to that. 

That is where Faith comes in! I know God will provide just like he always does but insurance coverage would help lighten this already heavy load. Those of us who suffer with an infertility diagnosis need medical assistance and often medications to help our reproductive system function.

My heart goes out to all the women walking this road and to the couples who are dealing with this as well! You are never alone! I know God gave us our beautiful daughter and he's the ultimate physician that will be guiding us through our IVF journey in 2021!
